ABOUT

Fabian Kratzer is an award-winning film composer based in Nuremberg, Germany. He studied Media Composition at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf and earned a Master of Music in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games from the renowned Berklee College of Music.
At the core of Fabian’s work lies a strong sense for storytelling and emotional narrative. His music is driven by the desire to deepen cinematic images with a distinctive, expressive sound language—bridging modern classical writing, cinematic orchestration, and intimate textures.
Fabian has composed music for feature films, television, and theatre, and collaborated with international brands such as Siemens and UNICEF. His score for the iEmmy-nominated TV series GONG! – Mein spektRakuläres Leben earned him a nomination for the German Film Music Award. In 2023, he won the Jerry Goldsmith Award for his music to the UNICEF commercial Grapefruit, and he was nominated again for the award in 2025. His orchestral work Above the Mountains was previously nominated at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
In addition to his screen work, Fabian develops his own artistic projects. His EP Elements explores fundamental forces of nature through piano- and string-driven neoclassical compositions (WATER, AIR, WOOD), combining intimacy, rhythm, and cinematic depth. In 2025, he composed the official Televisionale Hymn, premiered live with ensemble at the festival in Weimar.
Whether writing for film, live performance, or recorded releases, Fabian Kratzer’s music is marked by emotional clarity, narrative purpose, and a deep connection between sound and image.
